Costello Dismantling Co., Inc. worked  with the Army Corps of Engineers on the dismantlement of the Smelt Hill Hydroelectric Dam in Falmouth, Maine.  This project reclaimed a vast stretch of the Presumpscott River, removing an impediment to the natural migration of aquatic life on the river. For its scope and execution, this project received commendation from President Bush and a Coastal America 2003 Partnership award.
